South Sawyer Glacier
Inside Passage, Southeast Alaska
Posted: Jan 19, 2020
The unparalleled beauty of Southeast Alaska is breathtaking.Tracy Arm of Alaska’s Inside Passage is full of magical sights. South Sawyer Glacier, hidden at the end of the waterway, is the icing on the cake. Wildlife can be seen all around, sometimes bears on the coast, whales, seals, sea lions in the ocean, and eagles soaring above.
The weather doesn’t always provide blue skies but when it does, Wow!, it’s a photographer’s paradise. For this image, I used a short lens which allowed me to include the floating ice and icebergs in the foreground and the cloud-filled sky above the glacier. The elements of the ice and clouds add interest to the overall scene.
I look forward to returning to this beautiful part of the world in June. There is a space available on my Southeast Alaska Photography Expedition, if you are interested I invite you to visit my website.
